Uintah High Choir Family,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Spring Choir Concert and Awards Ceremony. From my count we had about half of us turn out. A special thank you to Mikayla Peacock for putting together the end of year video and for all who participated in the secret song video.
No Week 9 Assignments in Canvas
All choir work was due Friday, May 15, 2020. There are no additional assignments this week.
VERY IMPORTANT: Drop Off & Pick Up Days
Dates & Times:
Wednesday, May 20: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Thursday, May 21: 8:00 am - 12:00 noon
Procedures:
The return system is a drive through only, students/parents will not be allowed to get out of their vehicles. Both band and choir will be picking up behind the school by the music rooms. Mrs. Shipton does not want traffic going against the flow. SO...
- Enter campus on the east entrance, drop off all NON-CHOIR (chromebooks, etc) items at the front of the school.
- Drive behind the school and drop off & pick up all CHOIR stuff. (Band too.)
- You’ll then need to use the bus turn around and go back out the west side of the school.
Please make sure I turn in your uniform, folder and sheet music. If you cannot come one of the drop off days, email me and we can arrange something else to help you out. Please don't make me have to track you down, that is no fun for any of us.
All State Choir (For next year Juniors and Seniors)
If you didn’t follow the All State application procedures, please read the paragraph below. Remember, this is an application. Mr. Merryweather will be selecting only a handful of students from the applications. Don’t miss out applying, it is an awesome experience.
All upcoming juniors and seniors are invited to apply to participate in All State Choir. Only a handful of students will be allowed to participate per All State Choir guidelines. Mr. Merryweather will choose from interested participants. If you are interested in participating in All State Choir you and a parent/guardian must sign the All State Choir Info/Contract, take a photo of the signed contract, attach the photo to an email and send it to Mr. Merryweather. Choir Video Conference – Polyphony & Luminosa
Wednesday (May - Luminosa: 11am – 11:30am
Polyphony: 11:30am – 12pm
These conferences are schedules so that leadership can give out some individual class awards. The link to the conference will be on the choir website under the Online Choir tab.

Choir Recruiting Help (Again)
PLEASE, PLEASE, PEASE! We need more singers. Please let people know we want their voice in choir. If you know of anyone who has any interest in choir or who you think should be interested in choir, please have them fill out the Choir Interest Form at the top of the Uintah High Choir website. After they fill out the form Mr. Merryweather will get back with them as to where they will best fit in choir next year. The interest form will be available all summer.

Uintah HS Spring Activities Awards Night
This year we have a handful of students who will be recognized as part of Uintah High School’s spring activities. The ceremony will be broadcasted on Channel V6 on May 18th at 7pm. It will also be available to stream after the broadcast on channelv6.com.
Downloaded Sheet Music – Destroy It
Please make sure to destroy any copied sheet music you may have printed. This includes primarily anything from ‘Calling All Dawns’ and ‘I See Colors’. All other sheet music should be original and should be turned in along with your folder.

Thank you to those who have been sending such nice messages to me and especially thank you to everyone for ‘Surviving Online Choir’. I know none of us signed up for this and I hope we can return to some normalcy soon. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the Fall if not sooner. Have a great summer and keep up the singing.
